Inert Inversions reimagines circulation at LAX by transforming the Automated People Mover into an architectural pause—an exhibition hall showcasing local artists. Positioned across from the Theme Building, the project weaves through layers of pedestrian, vehicular, and rail movement, turning lines into space, rhythm, and encounters.
Using constriction and swelling to shape spatial tempo, the building splits at the entrance: one path moves quickly and directly, the other winds through layered spaces and framed views. Through solids and voids, the architecture invites moments of pause and discovery—circulation becomes the narrative thread of the site.
