Our Core Values

Community
Nature
Technology

As active members of our community, we believe in creating spaces that reflect and support the vibrant, diverse lifestyles that make Los Angeles unique. This city is a rich tapestry of cultures, generations, and rhythms—and our work is rooted in human-centered design that embraces that fullness, prioritizing comfort and the art of fitting many into few.

We aim to deepen our connection to the land through thoughtful use of sustainable materials, construction methods, and design principles—always with a sense of responsibility to the physical and mental well-being of those who inhabit our spaces. Stewardship, for us, means honoring both people and place.

Our goal is to empower clients with a sense of authorship, blending emerging technologies with community-focused thinking to create spaces that truly serve. Each design opportunity is a chance to push boundaries—integrating advanced tools, experimenting with process, and shaping the future.

At Substrata, we envision a future where 3D-printed, high-quality architecture is not only sustainable but accessible to all.
